This weekend the team travelled to Lincolnshire for the eighth round of the British Superbikes. Rendell started on a high by topping Friday’s timesheet (125 and Moto3) with a respectable 1.56.037 in wet conditions. This a courageous time bearing in mind Rendell’s injury history at Cadwell Park. The weather improved on Sunday, along with the qualifying times; Rendell achieved a front row start ahead of championship leader ‘Tom Carne’. Entering the bank holiday race it was strikingly obvious the 12-lap battle would be as competitive as ever, especially with Rendell displacing competition on the grid. With the front two breaking away, Rendell diced with the following pack, avoided Mackenzie’s crash and put the Banks Racing Machine second on the podium. Rendell is now up to third in the Motostar Championship and has four rounds to improve on this.
Rendell Reports: ‘It’s been another fab weekend for the team; I go home today with another podium and more importantly a great jump in the championship. This is my best BSB season to date, hopefully my success continues to the end.’
Round Nine: Donignton Park (6-8th September 2013)
